Vitiligo is a skin disorder essentially characterized by the depigmentation of the skin, or in easy words, the presence of white spots on the skin. These white spots cover with asymmetry on the skin and the size of these spots tend to expand as a person ages.

In some cases, hair on the troubled area might also lose their pigmentation cells. Also, it has been found that vitiligo affects at least 1 out of 100 people in most countries across the world.

It is a very common disease which affects both genders of any age, however, it is quite more prominent in people with dark skin. Michael Jackson is one of the well-known cases of this unusual skin disease.

Despite being a popular disease, its real cause is still undiscovered and no one is able to find a permanent cure for this problem yet. Some medical specialists say though that vitiligo is usually associated with anxiety, thyroid problems and autoimmune.
